Silhouettes in the Rain

2nd November 2014

Imagining a world with endless rainfall, Anne van Gallen has designed a series of clothing and accessories for such a world.

Posing questions and issues surrounding how we would evolve over time with our shape and posture her 'Warriors of Downpour City' range provides a range of armour to protect from the continual downpour.

A celebration of rain rather, her clothing pieces become pared down with diluted colours and transparent materials that appear as if wearable fog around the shoulders and the head.

Rather than designed as a series of actual garments the collection is designed to provoke conversation around styling and garments

our bodies with the necessary armour. Anne van Galen’s vision is a celebration of rain, in which fashion becomes pared down, transparent and layered with thin diluted colours. Wearable body pieces resembling fog settling around the shoulders, a face-concealing headdress, a tube to glove a clenched hand. The project contains a series of fashion photos to serve as inspiration and a poetic prospective, of silhouettes in the rain.

I use this blog as a notebook of inspirations – I post things I see and like and thoughts of mine. I don't revolve around a singular topic and neither does this blog. Everything and anything is relevant
