Flying High

11th November 2013

I am very proud of my friends Nancy and Benjamin aka Studio XO who have in Nancy's words 'just had the career highlight of my life'. Having been secretly working on the first ever flying dress they set Lady Gaga in flight at the launch of her new album last night in New York.

Having worked with drone experts and Gaga's team over the last 6 months studio XO have taken their vision of wearable electronics to an altogether different level.

Titled 'Volantis' the dress hovered Gaga up in a fibreglass construction that sits somwhere between dress and flying machine.

Gaga also had Nancy and Benjamin with her dressed in white boiler suits and gave them notable credit for their collaboration with her.

"I wanted to make today about something even more important to me," she told attendees at the event. "That something is the youth of the world. Benjamin and Nancy [the dress' engineer and designer] are here with me today. Their minds are just so boundless. I will be a vehicle today for their voices... Youth all over the world."
